Social media is an internet-based form of communication. Social media platforms allow users to have conversations,share information and create web content.
There are many forms of social media, from blogs,micro-blogs, Wikis, social networking sites,photo-sharing sites, instant messaging,video -sharing sites,podcast,widgets,virtual worlds and many more.
However, there are prons and cons of social media but let us leave that for another day. Here on Pretty on social media we are going to learn more about social media.

The main topic about social media is that it has turned the world into a global village. This mean communication is quick and geographical location is no longer a bearer connect with our loved ones🤗🤗
ReplyDeleteCurrently, social media is being used as a platform to empower people to showcase Thier talents, grow businesses and a lot more. I've seen a lot of pencil artists draw Thier sketches on Facebook and selling them to people at USA, talk about@young creator,@uncle donze. more people have dived into that too. Some are rappers and the more views they get, the more they become popular and once they're popular they get record deals which pay much better. Some are TikTokers who create content, that's where they get to showcase their acting skills and it also makes them popular, you know some people are all about fame so it gives them the spotlight they've always wanted. In terms of TikTok, I stand to be corrected but If my mrmory serves me well, @inno matitjane was one of the TikTokers who gained popularity and went as far as getting interviewed on SABC 2 yo
ReplyDeleteTV programme, after that he has appeared on rhythm city....and he became a public figure. TikTok also promotes songs with it's challenges for example, did you know about the umlando song before that challenge?
I doubt, but after hearing it we all went to Spotify and YouTube to check it out,. The other example ke ya "whenever you're ready", that song gained views by that time and that promoted the artist akere. I went to YouTube to check it out only to find that it was released in 2015. There's a lot I can say, social media has made it easy for businesses to prosper. People sell their products on Facebook market or even Thier personal accounts, that creates more customers, especially because some Even go as far as sharing your post so it's easier to reach a larger population which increases the product market.
Some get domestic jobs through social media which decreases unemployment.
There are pages like The Funny Chef on Facebook where people vent and that could reduce depression and suicidal rates since people comment, giving them some hope or advices.
The drawbacks**
I've seen young girls sell their souls just to withstand Instagram pressure since they want to fit in. This is where they end up having STIs, leaving school,using drugs. Some have lost self confidence as they don't know hore Instagram filters modify everything so ba bona ba se perfect and ebe they're always using makeup to cover their "flawed" selves.
Selling souls comes in many ways,some steal money to acquire all the things they have. Some sleep with old men for those while some go through a lot more.
Cyber bulling has become a norm, especially on Twitter and Facebook. Whenever someone posts Thier picture or raises a "voice", they get roasted and that affects them mentally. It could lead to depression. People on these two platforms are sadists.
Managers in an organizations use Social media to interact with their clients. It is about conversations/connecting with the audience and building a good relationships with clients. It is not just a broadcast channel or a sales and marketing tool. Managers communicate internally and externally through the use of social media in the commercial entities.
ReplyDeleteSocial media made the work easier for management to pass instructions to the subordinate through Emails rather than using old fashioned notice boards, so to the subordinate,instructions are in their finger tips. Also, Managers interact with people outside the organization through social media e. g Purchasing a stock online from the manufacturer.
On the contrary, the receiver might not get the message in time due to network traffic, so communication might not be effective. I recommend people to use Social media because it saves time and money for one to travel in order to have effective communication.
